Shopping in Shetland

There are local general stores in all the larger communities throughout the Shetland islands. However, most of Shetland’s shops are in Lerwick.

There are also a number of specialist shops, including jewellers, art galleries, toy stores, antiques dealers and seaside gift shops, as well as many boutiques and gift shops.

The Toll Clock Shopping Centre takes it's name from the clock tower landmark on the roof of the minimarket, which can be seen from miles around! The clock on the tower originally adorned the old Toll Booth building in Lerwick's Town Centre (now the RNLI building) in 1825.
